Louis Berkhof (1873-1957) is best known for his "Systematic Theology" which has been translated into numerous languages the world over. This lesser- known little treatise deserves a place of prominence in the church of the 21st century. Listen to the conviction that moved Prof. Berkhof to write: "This little book is born of the conviction that the subject of the assurance of faith deserves more attention than it often receives in the present day. We are not living in an age in which Christian certitude can be taken for granted. The enemy is exerting himself to destroy the foundation which God has laid for our faith in his excellent Word. It is hoped that this little treatise may be of some service in the cultivation of assurance especially among our rising generation."
