The Scriptures tell us faith comes
from hearing” (Rom. 10:17). No one has
ever improved on that formula, and that
is why the Puritans believed so
strongly in preaching, and why they
made no exceptions when addressing
their children and youth.
Years before the Great Awakening,
Jonathan Edwards had been telling
children and youth to seek salvation.
This volume contains fourteen sermons
by Edwards for children and youth, nine
of which have never been published.
Also included is a list of Bible
questions Edwards expected his young
people to know. Sermon titles
include “Children Ought to Love the
Lord Jesus Christ above All Things in
This World,” “A Lovely and Pleasant
Sight,” and “The Sins of Youth Go With
Them to Eternity.”
