Ezekiel 20-48: Word Biblical Commentaries

God was always faithful in honoring his covenant with Israel. But when the chosen people repeatedly forgot that covenant, they experienced divine chastening, especially through the fall of Jerusalem. The prophet Ezekiel was God's messenger to a generation born in exile, after Jerusalem's fall in 587 B.C., to a people brought low by the burden of sin. But what began as a stern pronouncement of judgement soon climaxed in a joyous prediction of salvation.
